I am an artist living and working in the north east of Scotland.
My practice is to involve the participant fully in my work; for them to be immersed in the experience by actively being part of the piece.
My medium is often but not solely walking but also inspired by walking and the emotions, thoughts and memories stimulated by the activity, resulting in my work both moving the body and walking the mind and indeed vice versa.
I have spent the last few years working outside the gallery in public spaces, creating temporary and permanent works designed to explore every element of walking as art and the engagement of the potential participant.
Over this time I have led walks, designed and laid out labyrinths and labyrinthine paths, made text pieces inspired by walking and personally walked pilgrimages and marathons.
I am also interested in the landscape and the environment I have encountered whilst walking and particularly the archaeology under my feet.
